More great news for the UQ student housing: we’re happy to announce that you’ll now have to access to some of the fastest internet speeds available in the country, thanks to an exciting new partnership with KCOM.
KCOM will install its Lightstream service in every single student house in the University Quarter as well as in the hall of residence Cranbrook Court, meaning download speeds of up to 1Gbps will be available to all UQ tenants.
These ultrafast internet speeds are some of the fastest currently available in the UK and even Europe. Nothing should slow you down when you’re at Hull University and access to ultrafast speeds will ensure students are able to complete their studies without being hampered by slow internet speeds – as well as enjoying high-quality streaming and online gaming at the best possible quality.
And if you can’t manage to pull yourself away from your phone on your walk to University – or if you’re still sending last-minute emails – you’ll be pleased to hear that we’re providing open Wi-Fi for the entire UQ area too, making the University Quarter one of the most connected student living spaces in the UK (and probably one of the best places to play Pokémon Go in a couple of months!).
We’ll be working with KCOM to hold a variety of open days showcasing these new speeds in the future, including gaming tournaments and much more to be announced at a later date.
